2023 NFL Preseason Winners and Losers: Kenny Pickett, Mac Jones Rising; Colts, Broncos Falling

Texans should be optimistic about C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr., both quarterbacks might have big seasons.

Forget preseason performances most of the time. But it can sometimes preview the regular season.

Inexperienced quarterbacks like Sam Howell and Desmond Ridder enjoying preseason success doesn't answer many questions because they haven't played much in the regular season.

There may be something to Kenny Pickett's preseason success.

 He started as a rookie quarterback for the Steelers last season and went 7–5, so he could breakout in 2023.

The preseason answered several contract and trade questions.

Here are some preseason winners and losers before the regular season.

Steeler talent players: Pickett has been so good in the preseason that I expect wide receiver George Pickens to be as good as Jets Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson.

Though brave, the 6'3", 200-pound Pickens thrives at snagging contested passes and may have more downfield opportunities if Pickett stays aggressive in the regular season. 

The 2022 first-round pick Pickett had a perfect preseason with five touchdowns in five tries.
