COX TO COMMANDERS AUG 30 The Dallas Cowboys placed a difficult cult on linebacker Jabril Cox in the hopes of re-signing him to their practice squad.

Cox, the former LSU standout, elected to sign with Washington in what might be described as a "steal," a "snub," and a "signing."

Dallas saw Cox, a fourth-round choice out of LSU in the 2021 NFL Draft, as a "get" at the time.

However, Cox tore his ACL in his first season and was limited to special teams for Dallas last season. He turned down Dallas' offer to keep him,

and now he's in Washington, where he'll start on the practice squad.

The Dallas Cowboys are dealing a fourth-round selection for San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Lance, 23, was the No. 3 overall choice by the 49ers in 2021, but he has struggled in his early career.
