Cowboys are expected to release former Super Bowl champion runner

Ronald Jones is set to miss the first two games of the season due to a suspension,

But the Dallas Cowboys running back may never participate in a game.

Jones is expected to be dismissed by the Cowboys, according to multiple team sources.

According to ESPN's Todd Archer, Jones' suspension offers the team more time to make a definitive decision

on his future because he will not count against the roster number until his suspension finishes.

Dallas, according to Archer, will keep three running backs: Tony Pollard, Deuce Vaughn,

And Rico Dowdle. If Malik Davis clears waivers without being claimed, he might be re-signed to the team's practice squad.

Dowdle has done more to deserve the No. 2 position behind Pollard, according to Archer on August 26, 2023. "Vaughn's work has opened people's eyes.
