The painful Dallas Cowboys cuts are starting to leak as the team finalizes their 53-man roster by 4 p.m. on August 29, 2023.
The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reported that the organization released veteran defender Quinton Bohanna.
“The Cowboy[s] cutdown to a 53-man roster will close a chapter for some 2021 draft class members,” Gehlken tweeted on August 29.
A source stated sixth-round pick NT Quinton Bohanna was waived. He was informed Monday.”
Bohanna started nine games for Dallas in 2022, but Mazi Smith's offseason signing rendered him expendable.
Last season, the defender made 13 appearances and had 19 tackles, mostly as a run stopper.
Bohanna had two seasons left on a four-year, $3.6 million contract before being dismissed.
Defensive tackle Bohanna was scheduled to earn $940,000 in 2023, but Dallas will save $900,000.Bohanna was a popular offseason cut candidate.
