Daniel Jones, a Blue Devils graduate, has declared Duke a 'football school' following the Blue Devils' surprise victory over Clemson.

Duke is famous for its basketball team, which has won five national crowns and 17 Final Fours.

The Blue Devils' shock of No. 8 Clemson Tigers on Monday night has one Duke graduate calling it more than a basketball haven.

At practice Tuesday, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was asked about his Blue Devils' 28-7 thrashing of the Tigers.

Jones, the Giants' sixth-overall choice in 2019, was just granted a hefty long-term agreement to remain the franchise quarterback at $40 million per season.

He's living proof Duke football has hidden gems. Riley Leonard, Duke's quarterback, is Jones' friend from David Cutcliffe's time at Duke.

Duke signed Leonard in 2021, but they parted ways in November.

Cutcliffe worked with Peyton and Eli Manning and other NFL players before Jones joined the pros. Leonard, like Jones, showed off his legs and arm Monday night.

Leonard led the Blue Devils with 98 yards on eight carries and a 44-yard touchdown.

Duke moved up to No. 21 in the AP Top 25 after the game.

Duke plays Lafayette, Northwestern, and UConn before hosting No. 10 Notre Dame Sept. 30.
