Nearly since Ron Rivera's appointment as head coach prior to the 2020 season,
Washington supporters have been pleading for assistance at linebacker.
It's strange considering that Jack Del Rio, the defensive coordinator, and Rivera both played outstanding linebacker
total of 19 seasons in the NFL. The Commanders have, however, nearly completely downplayed the linebacker position
today's pass-happy NFL. Not only does Washington have a team. The Commanders frequently substitute five defensive backs or five defensive lineman
the usual two linebackers on the field. Only four linebackers were on Washington's first 53-man roster when it was announced on Tuesday.
De'Jon Harris' re-signing by the Commanders to the practice squad was therefore expected.
The Commanders weren't finished, either, and later added Jabril Cox, a former Dallas fourth-round pick, to the practice squad.
