LSU's Jayden Daniels understands what the Tigers must do to qualify for the College Football Playoff this season.

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels will play No. 8 Florida State in Tallahassee on Sunday night to start his senior year.

The Tigers, ranked No. 5, are counting on Daniels, in his fifth collegiate season (three years at Arizona State before moving to LSU last season),

to start the season strong after losing to the Seminoles, 24-23, in 2022.

While most teams open their seasons against weaker opponents, LSU and Florida State face each other.

Daniels wouldn't change it. "I love the big games to start the season,"

he told Fox News Digital about his national Powerade TV promo that will air Sunday night during the game. "I came to LSU to play in these games. What a blessing.

We know where we are as a team early on. Week 1 few clubs can achieve that.

They play an easy game or a team they should beat. Being against a talented squad is a blessing. It can get ugly if we're not prepared."

Daniels doesn't worry about his future after his last collegiate football game.

Instead, he hopes the last game will be a national championship and the Tigers will win.
