Now that the 2023 NFL preseason schedule is over, all 32 clubs are focused on roster cutdown day.
All clubs have to reduce their rosters from 90 to 53 players by Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET.
For the first time, there is only one cutdown day this season. After the first preseason game,
clubs reduced their rosters from 90 to 85 players, from 85 to 80 after the second, and from 80 to 53 after the third.
Teams may also keep 16 practice squad players, including at least 10 with no more than two NFL seasons' worth of experience
in addition to the 53-man roster. The 53-man roster of another team may be signed those practice squad players, but not to another practice squad.
Last Sunday, Las Vegas Raiders general manager Dave Ziegler and running back Josh Jacobs
gave each other a dap and an embrace after months of back-and-forth negotiations, cryptic social media messages, and persistent rumors.
