Minnesota Vikings quarterback Jordan Ta'amu, 25, is among the 53 players cut from training camp to start the 2023 season.
Ta'amu was one of 15 players cut on August 29 by the league transaction wire.
As Nick Mullens rested, Ta'amu was a fill-in for the last preseason game after signing on August 19.
Ta'amu was a backup as rookie Jaren Hall played all 60 snaps against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday. Last season, Ta'amu was XFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Tanner Vallejo, a six-year veteran linebacker with over 1,500 special team snaps and 82 regular-season games, was released in the initial wave of roster cuts.
The Vikings also waived DL Calvin Avery, CB Kalon Barnes, CB C.J. Coldon, Jr., T Christian DiLauro, CB Jameson Houston, LB Wilson Huber,
WR Garett Maag, RB Abram Smith, OL Josh Sokol, TE Colin Thompson, T Jarrid Williams, LB Jake Gervase, and CB Tay Gowan
Like many rookie quarterbacks, Hall had ups and downs in his first NFL training camp.
