Undrafted offensive tackle signs $86.6M Cowboys extension: report

ESPN reports that the Dallas Cowboys signed right tackle Terence Steele to a five-year, $86.6 million agreement before the season.

The maximum contract value is $91.8 million, with $50 million guaranteed.

Steele, a 2020 undrafted free agent from Texas Tech, has been a great Cowboys tale. Steele started 14 of 16 games at right tackle as a rookie after not being drafted.

Steele started poorly but became a reliable right tackle for the Cowboys. In 2021, he played left tackle when Tyron Smith was injured.

The 26-year-old tore his ACL in Week 13 of the 2022 season against the Houston Texans. However, this deal demonstrates the Cowboys' optimism for his future.

Being activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list before training camp, Steele missed no time.

Steele allowed only one sack on that side on 439 pass-blocking snaps last season, per Pro Football Focus.

Steele and Zack Martin have a new contract for the new season, with the right guard rewriting his deal to make $36 million over two seasons.
